DAF presents a full suite of product innovations at the IAA 2024
DAF Trucks is raising the bar in fuel efficiency, safety, and driver comfort with its New Generation XD, XF, XG, and XG+ models, unveiled at the IAA Transportation 2024 in Hanover. DAF also highlights its commitment to sustainability by showcasing a range of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) for city, regional, and long-haul use, alongside top-tier charging stations and energy storage solutions.
DAF’s exhibition, in Hall 21, features its full range of products and services, reinforcing its leadership in the transport sector.
New Standards in Efficiency, Safety, and Comfort
Efficiency Enhancements:
- Upgraded PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines with improved valve timing, dual-drive coolant pump, and a 2-cylinder air compressor.
- Rear axle innovations including a stronger pinion design and new axle ratios.
- Standard features like DAF’s Digital Vision System, Predictive Cruise Control, and an aerodynamic package, resulting in up to 9% better fuel efficiency.
- All models now come with a 10-year PACCAR Connect subscription for real-time fleet management.
Safety Features:
- A comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) including Advanced Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, and Drowsiness Detection.
- Event Data Recorder and other tools to enhance road safety.
Comfort Upgrades:
- Even quieter operations thanks to lower engine speeds at cruising and a smoother transmission.
- New Truck Navigation App and connected truck navigation for seamless route planning.
Zero Emissions and Sustainability
DAF is showcasing its full lineup of XB, XD, and XF electric vehicles, boasting zero-emission ranges of up to 500 kilometres. These vehicles are powered by advanced LFP batteries, which offer better safety, durability, and performance. PACCAR Power Solutions is also displaying charging stations and energy storage systems, supporting DAF’s sustainable transport initiatives.
Future-Ready Technology
DAF is committed to the future of transport, with innovations like PACCAR MX engines prepared for HVO biodiesel, upcoming hydrogen engines, and the development of the e-Axle. This highlights DAF’s efforts in exploring alternative, sustainable transport technologies.
