Vauxhall Reveals New Mokka With Crisper, More Modern Design

Vauxhall has unveiled its new-look Mokka, highlighting sleek design updates and innovative features. This refreshed model, with its signature LED lighting and modern accents, embodies a blend of style and technology that aligns with Vauxhall’s vision for a more sustainable, electrified future. Notably, the front end features the distinctive Vauxhall Vizor, seamlessly integrating the headlights and emblem. This aesthetic refinement, combined with the model’s compact dimensions, delivers a striking look that distinguishes the Mokka in the compact SUV category.

Inside, the Mokka prioritises simplicity and sustainability, with recycled materials throughout the cabin. The minimalist “detox” approach reduces visual clutter by focusing on essentials. A redesigned, sports-inspired steering wheel and clean centre console enhance the driving experience, while the updated infotainment system adds a 10-inch digital display with customisable widgets and colour schemes. This new system includes voice activation with the “Hey, Vauxhall” feature, enabling hands-free commands and wireless smartphone connectivity for effortless interaction with the vehicle. Additionally, wireless map updates and the EV-specific routing make journeys easier for drivers of the Mokka Electric.

The Mokka is available in three trims: Design, GS, and Ultimate, simplifying choices for buyers. Customers can select between an efficient petrol engine and two electrified powertrains: the fully electric Mokka and the new Mokka Hybrid. The Mokka Electric, powered by a 156 hp motor and 54 kWh battery, boasts a range of up to 250 miles (WLTP), offering local emissions-free travel with excellent acceleration and driving stability. The battery’s underfloor position lowers the vehicle’s centre of gravity, enhancing handling. For those seeking a hybrid option, the 48-volt Mokka Hybrid combines a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 21 kW electric motor, optimised for both urban and motorway use. This hybrid system significantly reduces emissions and fuel consumption, providing electric-only drive at lower speeds for clean city travel.

In line with its “Greenovation” commitment, Vauxhall’s Mokka features eco-friendly options such as special aero wheels and an exterior free from chrome, improving aerodynamics. New black and gloss accents give the Mokka a modern touch, while the black claddings in the GS trim add a sporty flair. Furthermore, with every model in Vauxhall’s lineup, including the Mokka, set to have a fully electric option by the end of 2024, the company is reinforcing its dedication to accessible electric mobility.

As Vauxhall expands its SUV lineup with the Mokka, Frontera, and Grandland, each electrified or hybrid model caters to diverse customer needs, offering a refined driving experience and a bold new look in the compact SUV market.
