Technology and Comfort

Driving comfort

When you spend a long time in your vehicle, it's the small details that makes all the difference.

The Crafter’s 'ergoComfort' suspension seat, sophisticated storage options and choice of additional extras transform its cabin into a comfortable workplace for drivers who spend a lot of time on the road. The new ergoComfort suspension seat features optimal back care with 20-way seat adjustment to reduce the impact of any jolts. The combination of manual and electric settings allows you to fully adjust your seat. You can also add heating and a massage function to your seat.

Front Assist and City Emergency Braking detects when the vehicle ahead is getting too close, as well as both pedestrians and cyclists, and will prepare the Crafter’s brakes if needed. If the risk remains, the system will partially apply the brakes to give you a helping hand.

This optional extra aids positioning into parking spaces. When reverse gear is engaged, the vehicle automatically assumes control of the steering. All the driver has to do is operate the clutch, accelerator and brake.

Available as an option, Lane Keeping Assist1 countersteers the vehicle if the driver unintentionally drifts from a lane. The system also emits audible and visual warnings via the multi-function display to alert the driver of danger.

With Volkswagen Connected services1 your Crafter panel van can now be even more digital. A wide range of services can conveniently be accessed through the Crafter via your smartphone and the Volkswagen App

Volkswagen's Fleet Management System provides unprecedented amounts of real-time information about your fleet. Analyse vehicle data including speed, location, mileage, fuel economy and service status via easily understood fleet communications and vehicle operations data. 

The Crafter’s optional telematics preparation is designed to work seamlessly with the industry standard FMS 3.0 – a compatible plug and power supply connect the device to your Crafter, increasing flexibility and allowing you to choose your preferred telematics provider. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ Fleet Management System helps you seamlessly manage your fleet more efficiently, keeping your vans on the road and your customers happy.

With Volkswagen Connected services1 your Crafter panel van can now be even more digital. A wide range of services can conveniently be accessed through the Crafter via your smartphone and the Volkswagen App1, with subscription tiers available to unlock even more functionality. The app connects your smartphone to the vehicle with an integrated eSIM card. We Connect/VW Connect1 features include:

Standard on all Crafter trims the Composition colour DAB+ radio system features a 10.3 inch or 12.9 inch (optional) display, two USB (type-c) ports, Bluetooth®, SD card slot and four speakers delivering 20 watt output. It also features App-Connect, an integrated eSIM and Volkswagen Connected Services as part of We Connect/VW Connect1 and We Connect/VW Connect Plus1 preparation.

The optional Discover Media Pro satellite navigation system* features an 12.9 inch colour touch-screen with proximity sensor. The system also includes DAB+ a 32GB media storage, natural voice control, free map updates via the internet and Volkswagen Connected Services with We Connect/ VW Connect Plus1, wireless App-Connect and integrated eSIM.
